Enjoy the summer before school starts

We walked to the park today August 8, 2009. It was such a beautiful day to be at the park. In the picture is Lili, Kimmy, Shyler, Danika, Tayla, and Kaden.

We were so hot from walking so we told the kids that they could run through the sprinklers. Tonia joined them running into the water. It felt so good to cool off.

Danika is on the round swing.

Kaden loves to swing and than jump off the swing.

Kimmy went to the house to pick up some things so that we could have lunch in the park. Tayla and Lili wanted to show how they could but the apple slice in their mouth.

Connor is so innocent

Connor was a calm baby and as soon as he started to walk in his into everything. We were outside cutting the flowers and Erik was supposed to be watching him. I look over and see Connor getting into the muddy water. I said to Erik you are supposed to be watching him and he is getting in the dirty water. Of course Erik isn't the one who has to clean him up. Since you were watching him, you get to clean him up. This picture shoes how dirty is bottom got.

Connor loves our dog Dafney. Connor is always hugging her. When we looked over, he was laying on her with his hands behind his back.

Knotts Berry Farm

The only place that they had for little kids to play was called Snoopy Land. They didn't have to much there for little kids. Connor loved to play in the kid bounce. It was a trampoline.

This ride Danika had to use the handle to make the cart go on the track.

Kaden is ridding the race car track. You would go slow and when you would go around the corner it would go real fast. They were having so much fun.

We ate at the Johnny Rocket restaurant. It was horrible food and it took so long to get our food. Our server was so bad. We are never going to eat there again.

Danika is ridding the only roller coaster for the kids. It was a real short ride.

Beach

We went to Newport Beach for 4 days. We always went to the same spot. Connor is learning to Boogie Board. Connor basically learned to walk at the Beach. He loved it so much that every time you turned around he was heading for the water.

Elise, Chelsey, Taylor, Amber and Danika made this sand Turtle. It looked so real.

Austin, Mason, Kaden, Preston, and Trevor would sit on the boogie board and when the wave came up it would move them all at the same time. They would hop from one board to the other and make it so that they would be on a different spot each time the wave came.

Kaden loved to Boogie Board. He was getting real good at it.

Kaden, Preston, Danika, Austin and Trevor were digging to get the sand crabs. They liked it because it would tickle their hands.

Arrived in California

It is Kaden's birthday. Today when Kaden woke up we had a bunch of Balloons that we blew up so that he would wake up to. It made it more special for him. He just turned 8 years old.

Taylor made this cake for Kaden's birthday.

Mindy planed a birthday baseball game for kaden.

On our way to California

Today is Kaden's birthday and we are on our way to California. Kaden and Preston sat in the back of the van. They had their own little area. They had thier blankets, snacks, and their own TV to watch.

Danika fell asleep on the way there. Traveling sure makes you tiered.

Connor did so well on the trip. I thought that he would cry a lot but he did so good.

Danika's Graduation

Today Danika graduated form her first year of preschool. Since her birthday is in September she misses the cut off date so she is going to have to be in Preschool another year. Danika sure has learned alot.

Miss Melanie is her teacher and Here she is giving Danika her Daploma. Danika learned so much with Miss Melanie. She hardly knew any of her letters and she now knows all of them.

Miss Melanie read them a short book.

Danika looks real good with her Diploma. Erik and I are very proud of Danika. She learned real fast. She likes to write her letters in my moms note book.

Kaden is in baseball

This is Kaden's first year of baseball.  He is having fun playing.  Grandpa Haines, Grandpa Backlund came to his first game.  We were greatfull for all the support that Kaden gets from our family.

Grandma Backlund, Grandma Haines also came to root Kaden on.

Kaden hit his first ball of the season.

Dinosaur museum

Eriks parents went with us to the Dinosaur museum.  Kaden and Danika are touching the Dinosaur bones.

Erik, John and Connor are walking through the star room.  It is like you are walking in outer space.  That was one of the things that the kids liked to do.  We had to go through a couple of times.

There is a little tunnel that the kids can crawl through.  At first Connor didn't like it.

Tonia let Connor touch the sand.  At first he didn't know what to think about the sand. Than after the third time he liked how it felt.

Spring Beak

Madeline, Chelsey, and Preston spent the night at our house for Spring Break. We woke up in the morning to snow so we had to think of things to do in the house. Madeline and Tonia made Memory Boards and Preston, Kaden, and Danika wanted to make ninja stuff. Grandma Nancy told them that they could make ninja masks and Belts and use some of her material. She wanted to see what they had made so we took these pictures for her to see what they did.
